22   May 1966      Fr Finneron made Parish Priest– Assistant Fr McGhie

05   Jun 1966       Instruction from Rome – All weekday masses to be

in Latin

26   Jun  1966      Fr Finneran of Marple Bridge visits Marple to discuss

new church

                           - mass currently in Liberal Club

                           - Marple population about 2000

                           - possibility of school in Marple discussed

07   May 1967      Fr Gerard Kelly replaces Fr Finneran as Parish Priest

21   May 1967      Fr McGhie replaced by Fr de Ville at St Mary’s

                           Negotiations in hand for purchase of land in Marple
