The Parish Embroidery Group began in November 1991, as an extension of the Altar Flowers Group, to provide for other forms of altar decoration, particulary Lectern Falls. The inspiration came from a visit to Sr Anthony Wilson S.N.D. who is the Artistic Director at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.

In 1998 three of the group enrolled at a week's Summer School with Sr Anthony in Liverpool. This gave them the impetus to tackle their most ambitious project - to celebrate the Millennium. It was an interpretation of our Parish Prayer - "Spirit of God, moving like wind or water or fire" - using colour, texture, line and movement flowing across three panels, each nine feet high, three feet wide and set one foot apart.

The group have also made hangings for Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter for the pillars and a triptych backdrop for the statue of Our lady.
